Position Summary

The Cloud Architect is responsible for setting the strategic direction, technical design and implementation of ProAmpac's cloud initiatives.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Responsible for the implementation, configuration, upgrades, support and adoption of IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, Office 365 (e.g. OneDrive, Exchange, Skype for Business, Directory Sync, SharePoint, Office Web Apps), Azure, Intune, Microsoft Dynamics tools and processes; ensures continuous integrity, availability and performance of the organization's cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.
  • Researches and assesses enterprise Cloud Services requirements, services and software to improve company efficiencies and productivity; identifies when upgrades and purchases need to be made, makes appropriate recommendations for purchase and implements new Cloud based services and processes for internal customers.
  • Implements, manages, maintains and supports according to established standards: enterprise mobility suite; Skype for Business environment to include voicemail and unified messaging systems; business applications and services related to mobile devices and mobile workforce.
  • Responsible for business process improvements and innovations through the integration, adoption and utilization of technology systems, services and features.
  • Ensures organization is utilizing all available features of the enterprise Cloud Services and software through the education of users on the utilization of cloud based technologies, services and features and education and training of IT support staff on maintaining and supporting implemented Cloud Services and technologies.
  • Collaborates frequently with all functional teams in the organization to ensure that current and future work processes and system integration needs are addressed.
  • Serves as Tier 3 support to resolve issues regarding Cloud, applications and infrastructure services and performs maintenance on assigned systems and services as needed; documents Enterprise Cloud Services infrastructure in order to quickly access information.
  • Identifies and understands the root causes of platform problems; works with Microsoft operations, partners and vendors to identify and solve problems; recommends solutions and ensures that solutions are applied to prevent future problems.
  • Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met and followed
  • Communicates with co-workers, employees and vendors verbally and in writing regarding policy and procedure changes, departmental activities, operational feedback and other information.  
  • Continually works toward license compliance and ensures ProAmpac is licensed appropriately

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technologies, or equivalent combination of experience, relevant IT certifications and credentials
  • Minimum of 2 years working with Azure and other technologies in the Microsoft Cloud stack.
  • Enterprise Office 365 in a hybrid federated deployment (Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Skype for Business, PBX, PSTN Conferencing)
  • Microsoft server operating systems 2008 R2 through 2016
  • Active Directory/ADFS/IIS/Microsoft SQL/Microsoft Exchange/SharePoint/Skype for Business
  • Cloud server technologies
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and cross culturally
  • Proven problem-solving skills from problem assessment to solution selection; ability to identify alternatives and make contingency plans
  • Must be capable of understanding project and business requirements; and how these requirements apply to complex enterprise systems and interfaces
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment; perform duties and makes decisions and recommendations under limited supervision, applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures
  • Advanced organizational problem solving, consensus building and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven leadership skills to lead the team and business through change
  • Must be able to travel (up to 20%.)
