Position Summary

The Manager Business Systems role is to supervise and maintain the organization's repository of software applications and their integrations through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. The Manager Business Systems is also responsible for planning and coordinating the processes and activities related to the development, delivery and integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions as required to meet the business requirements. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the business on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues
  • Plan, execute, and manage the integration of new applications into existing systems and software throughout the enterprise
  • Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
  • Ensure that corporate Change Management policy is followed
  • Develop and implement Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
  • Collaborate with analysts, architects, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications
  • Ensure that any new system integration into business systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
  • Design, develop, install and manage application enhancements and upgrades
  • Manage and provide direction for the application team in support of business operations
  • Work diligently to enhance or improve business processes via integration or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes
  • Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users and team members

 Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years direct experience managing applications and/or systems management
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions especially ERP applications
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling, methodology development, and data mapping
  • Strong knowledge of system and data quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Up to 20% travel
