Position Summary

Directs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  •  Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Ensures that co-workers are also following safety rules.
  • Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
  • Manages all shipping and receiving concerns and oversees daily operations.
  • Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job.
  • Monitors warehouse organization and assigns people from either shipping, receiving, or material handling to reorganize when necessary.
  • Primary stakeholder in verification and testing all ERP changes and modifications to ERP system.
  • Manages inventory control personnel and inventory control activities.
  • Leads physical inventory execution team.
  • Manages employee performance.
  • Works with Scheduling, Production, and Customer Service Managers to resolve issues affecting shipping and receiving department's ability to meet customer needs as well as outside vendors.
  • Coordinates transportation with 3PL.
  • Maintains and adjusts associate's work schedule.
  • Maintains shipping and receiving schedule.
  • Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with co workers, customers and suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities  
  •  Directly supervises employees in the Shipping & Receiving Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors Degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills            

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability          

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.        

Computer Skills              

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Axapta Database software; Wireless Warehouse; Microsoft Outlook internet software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word word processing software.
