General Purpose

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as packing inspectors, material handlers, machine operators and machine operators.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or packaging of bags, such as packing inspectors, machine operators and material handlers.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records and reports, in order to determine production requirement and to evaluate current production estimates, outputs and material requirements.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, personnel assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Accountable for supervising production areas, work and personnel, to ensure that ALL plant personnel conform at ALL times, to safety and production standards and policies in the employee handbook as well as ALL other safety production standards including the recording and reporting of production and production waste.
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Bring to the attention of the manager, ALL instances that may require disciplinary measures such as writhe ups, time-off or terminations of employment.
  • Interpret specifications, schedules, job orders, company policies and procedures to workers while emphasizing safety and maintaining production standards.
  • Maintain operations data reports such as daily attendance, personnel assignments and production results.
  • Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Constantly observe the production workforce to help identify prospects for advancement within the company.
  • On a daily basis, evaluate materials, supplies, equipment parts, or required maintenance to maintain or improve production efficiencies.
  • Set up, adjust and run machines and equipment as needed or required.
