General Purpose

Directs and coordinates customer service staff and the activities supporting sales and customer service. Ensures the maintenance of department standards and customer good will by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Ensures that co-workers are also following safety rules.
  • Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Develops goals for department and individual customer service representatives to meet set standards.
  • Monitors best practices for customer service in a manufacturing setting and sets the standard for "world class customer service".
  • Responsible for establishing processes and process improvements within department.
  • Hires new team members.
  • As determined by business conditions, participates in customer meetings/visits with other groups to support business.
  • Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
  • Knowledgeable and supportive of all company policies and procedures. Ensures that co-workers are also following these procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from 4-year college or university; 3-5 years related experience managing a high functioning team.
  • Strong Managerial skills including coaching, mentoring, delegating, communicating, listening, and decision-making.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of mangers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite mandatory; knowledge of Peoplesoft a plus.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

 

Physical Demand Levels

 

The employee must frequently position or move up to 25 - 50 pounds.  Lifting or moving items weighing greater than 50 pounds requires the use of lifting equipment or co-worker assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
