Hours: Rotating Nights 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. (Work every other weekend)


This position is under the direct supervision of the Shift Lead.  As a packer you are responsible for the packing and testing of pouches as they come off the spout machine. The Packer must work closely with the Machine Operator, Quality Control Team and Customer Service Team to assure that all production objectives are efficiency achieved. Must be comfortable working in fast-paced enviornment while maintaining strict quality standards.


Schedule rotates bi-weekly: Work Mon/Tue, off Wed/Thu, work Fri/Sat/Sun. The following week you only work Wed/Thu. 


  • Ensure efficient production of a quality product on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure that the pouching machinery is working properly and safely.
  • Monitor the quality of the material being processed to ensure compliance to company and customer quality specifications. Seek assistance from your operator on any quality issue during run. If operator is busy, contact your supervisor.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork, reports, and quality records associated with pouch operations.
  • Alert Quality Control of any suspected material non-conformances.
  • Keep your work area clean at all times. Be proactive in you housekeeping. Blow out machine before shift changes. If you see something that needs attention, do it before being told to. Always maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Pack products neatly in the cartons and stack them neatly on the skids. If you need assistance seek help from your operator.
  • Prepare new cartons as needed for job run.
  • Communicate with the next shift for any special instructions, (reason why you couldn't get samples, machine problems, things to look for in quality, etc...)
  • Participate with peers and supervisors in addressing problem areas, planning, methods and operating procedures.
  • Track departmental supplies, and notify manufacturing supervisor when supplies are needed.
  • Perform other assignments as requested by Ampac Management.


  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work history.
  • Meticulous, high attention to detail.
  • Works well in fast-paced environment.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure in millimeters.
  • Flexibility with availability when production needs require working overtime.
