Health, Dental, Vision, Vacation, 401K

Responsible to lead team members including accounts payable, payroll and production entry staff as well as oversees payroll, making payroll entries, accrual entries and reconciliations to GL, 401(k) submission and reporting.

Essential Duties and Tasks

    • Monitor the accounts payable process to ensure accurate and timely payments
    • Direct the processing of vendor invoices with hands on research when payment inquires arise
    • Prepare the post journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly accrued expense reconciliations.
    • Generate reports
    • Analyze and audit transactions
    • Direct monthly and year end physical inventories
    • Perform adjustments/reconciliation to general ledger
    • Organize financial data into usable information/charts
    • Oversee plant fund and petty cash. Writing and disbursing checks and petty cash as needed. Reconciliation monthly
    • Ensure compliance with state sales and use tax regulations.
    • Prepare and file monthly Sales and Use tax return. Participation in Sales tax audit
    • Prepare and file personal property tax returns
    • Independently solve Payroll errors, A/P issues, Production entry issues and any other Accounting related issues.
    • Assist in Cost variance analysis/quoting/reporting
    • Participate in special projects as needed.
    • Administer the training and development of staff, reviewing established goals and objectives to ensure successful completion
    • Proven knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
    • Must be able to perform and manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities concurrently with a positive attitude and approach.
    • Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments
    • Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations
    • Follow all safety rules and regulations; wear PPE
    • Read, understand and follow work instructions
    • Follow quality requirements to meet or exceed specifications
    • Effectively communicate with employees from your own and other departments to ensure a team environment.
    • Must be able to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
    • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Must have ERP System Experience preferably in SAP
  • Must have extensive strong hands-on MS Office Skills. Be able to create Excel worksheets/charts for analysis purposes. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Experience with ADP payroll system.
  • Knowledge and experience in FMLA laws, Garnishments, Tax Liens, OT rules and LOA's
  • Familiarity with SAP and variance reporting; previous experience in cost variance analysis helpful
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.
